The legal landscape changed this month in Colorado, as 20 new laws went into effect on July 1.
You can read all about the many changes over at 9News, where they are thrilled at the expansion of government authority over every aspect of our lives. For example, I had to read this one twice, and I still can’t believe it’s real:
“Job Application Fairness Act: SB23-058 — The act prohibits employers from inquiring about a prospective employee's age, date of birth, and dates of attendance at or date of graduation from an educational institution on an initial employment application. SB23-058 was passed during the 2023 Regular Session and became law on Aug. 7, 2023, but will be effective July 1, 2024.”

From prohibiting local restrictions on occupancy to establishing “safe spaces,” more aptly described as “soft targets, where firearms are prohibited, the changes to life in the Centennial State comprise progressive fever dreams on many fronts.
Stay safe out there, everyone.
