Colorado has a migrant crime problem. Denver is only safer than one percent of cities nationally; that is, 99% of cities are safer than Denver, according to Neighborhood Scout.

President-elect Trump campaigned on removing migrant criminals from our communities, but Colorado commies are standing on their sanctuary policies, even as residents demand a crackdown.

As a result, the Town of Castle Rock signed a resolution to cooperate with ICE.

Legacy media was quick to denounce the town’s resolution as “symbolic,” inferring that towns don’t have the right to disobey state sanctuary laws, even if those laws are unconstitutional and threaten the security of the town, county, state, and nation. This may be accurate, but if Douglas County joins Castle Rock’s resolution, we may have a constitutional ball game.

It’s unlikely that many prisoners with ICE detainers would end up in town-level detention, but Castle Rock is the Douglas County seat. The county seat includes the big, beautiful Douglas County jail, and it is likely that ICE detainees would be found over on Justice Way.

If Douglas County joins Castle Rock’s resolution, and then begins working with Trump, Homan, and ICE to punt the “newcomers,” we may see the showdown between state and federal immigration authorities right here in the south front range.

Picture it: Non-commie counties can send their ICE detainees to the Douglas County jail in Castle Rock. There, custody of the detainees will transfer to ICE, and ICE can process them for removal. This is a strategic advantage for federal authorities, as their efforts could be supported by the five military commands in the adjacent county to the south, El Paso, with myriad resources to swiftly remove the criminal invaders from our communities and nation.

How would state level authorities counter this move? Will Governor Polis order the Colorado National Guard to oppose ICE and the feds? Will Attorney General Weiser attempt to punish Douglas County authorities or overtake their offices? That might seem outlandish, but it's exactly what happened in Mesa County in 2021.

Neither Polis or Weiser appear to have the fortitude to pull off a conflict with the feds; besides, the constitutional jurisdiction over criminal invasion is clearly federal. As a result, the most likely end to an immigration standoff is through the courts. That means we might finally get legal clarity on the constitutionality of sanctuary policies. Since the communists depend on legal uncertainty to weaponize empathy towards destructive ends, such clarity benefit the entire nation.

Now, Colorado commies are petty and punitive, and they may attempt to line up Highland moms on the county line in protest. They might even try to arrest county officials in front of cameras.

At the end of the day, however, their efforts will be like the Castle Rock resolution: Purely symbolic.

The people welcome federal immigration authorities to remove criminal invaders and make Colorado safe again!
