Back in November, we shared the hilarious story of Lisa Levad, a small business owner who figured out that she could get a used BMW EV for free by stacking rebates. She traded in her truck and chose a dealership that maxed out EV credits. She nearly got it done, too, except Xcel ran out of money before her rebate passed through, so she was left paying $2500 for a BMW electric vehicle.
To be clear, she got an electric BMW for $2500, and CPR painted her as a victim for not getting the car for free.
I forgot about that story until I saw this Colorado Sun headline:
From the article, "The funding would help finance the closing of 1,100 megawatts of coal-fired plants in Arizona, New Mexico and the Craig Station in Colorado."
Sounds like a fabricated energy crisis, like the one Colorado politicians created on the Navajo Reservation after anti-coal policies in Cortez and the Four Corners. The upside of that disaster was that progressive climate cultists got to feel good about themselves for saving the planet. The downside was a wholly unnecessary double energy crisis that threatened the health and well being of native elders.
Green projects have manufactured the premise for many horrors in our state, from "free" cars to freezing first peoples, but the ends justifies the means for our warped and willfully destructive Colorado government.
A return to sanity can't come soon enough, and Trump's strategy of defunding communist fever dreams will likely save our country.
It might even save Colorado.
