Colorado's Ken Buck has, once again, proved himself to be a stalwart defender of the decrepit and wholly corrupt and criminal Biden Administration. If he continues to play his cards right by the Dems, he might even find himself an appointment to a federal bench somewhere…like the Democrat hellhole that his home state has become.

Buck’s latest apostacy as a representative of the American people was helping to safeguard DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas from a long overdue and well-deserved impeachment. In a not-so-stunning move, Buck sided with seven other Republican House reps to impede Marjorie Taylor Greene’s articles of impeachment in order to prolong the investigation into Mayorkas’ performance as the head of the DHS. The House Judiciary Committee has been interviewing and investigating Mayorkas and the DHS since Republicans took the majority in January of this year. One wonders what more needs to be investigated here. Anyone can watch the DHS failure and betrayal of our nation all day, every day on numerous media platforms…even mainstream media has a difficult time turning away from this embarrassing, Build Back Biden disaster. What more do Buck and the other seven need? No one with a shred of intellectual integrity can honestly say “we need more time to investigate if Mayorkas is doing his job wrong.”

Nothing in the seven-page articles of impeachment¹ should be construed as the politicization of a very real and obvious problem, because these are very real and observable high crimes and misdemeanors that whole country could testify to as witnesses. The simple truth conveyed in the articles is that the DHS has very clear responsibilities to the country and the Secretary of the DHS is bound by statute and the Constitution to perform those responsibilities and ensure that the officers of his Department also perform those responsibilities. He is not, and neither are they. For members of Congress to turn the very real danger of deliberately abandoning border (national) security into a political tool (whether for pandering or revenge) is disgusting.

The DHS Secretary alone is ultimately responsible for securing our borders. In 24 years as a Border Patrol agent, I never imagined, much less witnessed, what is happening now. And what is happening at our borders (northern and southern) is an invasion: It is nothing short of an existential threat to us as a nation and as a people. I’ll stop short of calling this treason (though there is probably a case to be made for that) and state the obvious dereliction of duty of which Mayorkas and numerous members of his staff and component heads are clearly guilty. In countless videos and images where various members of our government (DHS, HHS, National Guard) are aiding the entry and furtherance of obviously illegal aliens, I can confidently say that had I or any of my fellow Border Patrol agents done any of what I observed over the last three years, we would have been fired and likely prosecuted.

Under immigration law (Title 8 of the United States Code, just one section of law Mayorkas is responsible for) any aliens who illegally enter the US or are found to be illegally present in the US are to be arrested and detained pending removal. That simplest function of law and responsibility has been violated millions of times over since Mayorkas took office.

We now have Border Patrol agents aiding and abetting the illegal entry of foreign nationals, ICE and HHS (vis a vis various NGOs) furthering the illegal entry of foreign nationals, and upwards of 85,000 juveniles trafficked by this outlaw system are missing in the US. This is all happening under the direction and supervision of Alejandro Mayorkas, Troy Miller (CBP Commissioner), Patrick Lechleitner (ICE Director), and Xavier Becerra (HHS Secretary).

Presidential appointees ordering subordinates to break the law doesn’t make the actions legal, nor does it absolve their subordinates of the illegal acts they perform. Every single government employee who has participated in this abominable destruction of our national security (that which is guaranteed by Article 4, Section 4 of the Constitution) is not only complicit, but culpable of the crimes committed by this administration: They all swore the same oath that their superiors did.

Not only has this administration and its employees destroyed our national security and sovereignty, they have ceded control of our borders to transnational criminal organizations. Our borders have become the sole property of Mexican cartels and they have become even more wildly enrichened by Mayorkas and the Biden administration than ever before. The absence of any coherent law enforcement along our borders created profits like they’ve never seen. Moving humans into the US is more profitable than the drug trade now. A conservative figure (low ball) is $6,000 for every alien that enters the US. About 10 million have come across since Mayorkas has headed the DHS. Do the math ($60,000,000,000). And that’s just the ones we know of. Now consider that the whole smuggling operation has been simplified by about half: The cartels need only get their human cargo to the border, Uncle Sam takes over from there.

8 USC 1324 (Brining in and harboring certain aliens)² is the section of federal statute that covers alien smuggling (inclusive of human trafficking). Knowingly (whether or not for gain) encouraging, aiding, transporting, or facilitating an illegal alien’s entry or furtherance into the US is a felony. This includes removing obstacles like fences and barbed wire at the border, processing and releasing illegal aliens onto American streets, driving and flying illegal aliens to the American interior, and changing policies and operating instructions to accomplish any of this. Our government (particularly those agency heads named above) are guilty of this crime millions of times over. The Executive Branch is specifically charged with enforcing laws passed by Congress; failure to do so is cause for removal; breaking the very laws they are charged with upholding is cause for prosecution.

Ken Buck and his seven Republican cohorts have just aided in the perpetuation of this national criminal operation. The longer this organized crime racket stays in control of our government, the more and the longer the American people suffer. That he is not seeking another term is cold comfort given his intent to cause as much damage on his way out. He needs to be removed from his seat now. The people of Colorado’s 4^th Congressional District must act not only for their own good, but for the good of the country.
