I’m a local conservative volunteer and have closely followed the Colorado Republican Gubernatorial Race. In March the Gazette “threw their weight” behind Barb Kirkmeyer and I was curious as to why. Clearly, Victor is a Manchurian Candidate, he has no legislative record, has avoided ALL debates, so we’ll stick to looking at Barb Kirkmeyer and Scott Bottoms.
Barbara Kirkmeyer represents the Establishment Wing of the Republican Party and she espouses “establishment truths”, like Joe Biden won the election or we don’t have a budget problem. On the April 17, 2026 interview on the Jeff and Bill Show, when asked about the Liberty Score Card rating for which Barb earned a whopping 48%, she vehemently denied knowing anything about the Liberty Score Card and completely besmirched their longstanding work. Sue Moore, Chairman of Liberty Score Card, called in to correct Barb’s misrepresentations. It was enlightening. By the way, Scott Bottom’s score was 97% for the 2025 legislative session.
I decided to look at the Colorado Union of Taxpayers (CUT) for the last three sessions. For the 2023, 2024 and 2025 legislative sessions (2026 rating are not yet completed), she earned ratings of 62%, 56% and 61%. Stellar compared to her Democrat colleagues whose average scores weren’t even in the teens, yet for those same sessions, Scott earned, 83%, 81% and in 2025 Scott was awarded House Champion with a rating of 91%. I delved a bit deeper into what legislation Barb actually introduced: SB24-223, “Property Tax Cut” earned a resounding NO from CUT. Why? Their comments, “this bill passed in the last 3 days of the session…and contains largess for multiple local elections but only table scraps for taxpayers.”
Now that I have done 15 minutes of research I am even more curious, why Barb?
