Conservative students in Colorado schools are facing growing suppression and violations of their First Amendment-protected rights, as Colorado's totalitarian experiment reaches its logical end stage.

At Fort Lewis College in Durango, the student government denied a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) chapter from organizing — a decision that was cheered by many in the Centennial State. The opposition claims TPUSA is a threat to inclusivity — so they must be excluded. TPUSA students claim the decision betrays true diversity of thought and harms them by leaving them isolated and unable to organize.

In Eagle County, parents petitioned to block TPUSA clubs at Eagle Valley and Battle Mountain High Schools, fearing the group harms a supportive environment. The district, bound by the federal Equal Access Act, can't discriminate — but the backlash has made conservative high schoolers feel unwelcome and unsafe.

At Colorado State University (CSU) in Fort Collins, a FIRE report raises alarming data about the environment. 43% of students are self-censoring monthly and while 27% are okay with rare violence against speakers. Conservative voices feel chilled, pressured to stay silent amid a hostile climate.

Surprisingly, CU Boulder stands out positively, affirming full First Amendment protections for all speakers, regardless of viewpoint. Of course, Boulder is where violent roller hockey psychos are attacking TPUSA student leaders, so the campus is not without cause for criticism.

The academic environment in Colorado has created real fear for conservative students — and measurable, recoverable harm. Students withdraw, self-censor, face protests and threats of violence — and despite paying tuition, their education is disrupted and possibly negatively impacted.

How would you feel if your school said that your ideas make you too harmful to exist?

Public institutions must follow the First Amendment and Equal Access Act, banning viewpoint discrimination. Schools can't lawfully prioritize "safety" concerns to silence speech — regulations must be content-neutral.

These obviously are not.

Necessary lawsuits are likely incoming, as conservative voices are finally fighting back.

Not surprising at all .Colorado has been turning into a California for the last thirty years .I lived in California for five years in the early nineties I left there for the reason that i was slowly going broke the cost of living there was such that no matter what you made it took it all to live and if you did have anything left the state took it one way or another I moved to Colorado in 1993 and it has been downhill ever since the state has become a one party state and who knows what the communist state government will come up with this next session it will probably ban the second amendment and that will be the end for me I will move out no doubt I am looking at homes out of state now .What has happened I don't know for sure out of state people have swarmed here and a lot of them voted to make this state what they had left and I think it also was by design the communist thought they could take control and they have .This state is not a place for anyone who does not bow down to the liberal point of view the communist way really .One writes to your congress person or senator you never even get answered at all they do NOT care what you think they do not want to be bothered by fools like that .Our us rep is the worst and the two communist senators can't be bothered with peons ,I have had it.
