The 2024 election has an unprecedented number of unaffiliated voters in the state of Colorado, according to the Denver Gazette and the Secretary of State's records. It's possible that many of these "voters" don't realize they've been registered, because they're automatically registered.
From the Gazette: "And it’s part of the reason the number of unaffiliated voters in Colorado has reached an all-time high because voters who are automatically registered also are automatically categorized as unaffiliated voters and must actively take steps if they want to change their status to a party affiliation." People are automatically registered to vote when they obtain a driver's license in Colorado, and the checks on eligibility are done centrally by the Department of State.
According to the article, "The setup is part of the 'Democracy Package' that Colorado lawmakers passed in 2019 and one that Secretary of State Jena Griswold said made voter registration easy and accessible during the 2020 presidential race, the first year of government restrictions under the COVID-19 pandemic."
Unprecedented changes to election laws and processes was widespread in the 2020 election. The leadership of the Colorado State Department wants you to believe this is a good thing. Also, it's bipartisan:
"Wayne Williams, who held the secretary of state’s seat before Griswold and who also has served on the El Paso Board of County Commissioners and Colorado Springs City Council, agrees that the opportunities expand the voter rolls, particularly through the Division of Motor Vehicles."
As a reminder, Wayne Williams was the Republican Secretary of State that mandated Dominion Voting Systems in Colorado, before being successfully sued by Douglas and Garfield counties. He was also a Senior Advisor to election vendor Runbeck in 2022 at the same time he was holding the title of City Councilman at Large in Colorado Springs.
Colorado election officials champion access as the primary metric for election success. Unfortunately, access is prioritized higher than accuracy or security. It's unclear is accuracy or security are considerations at all in Colorado elections.
Of course, it's important to allow every eligible voter an ease of access to vote. But if access is prioritized, eligibility is ignored, and accuracy is not allowed to questioned, what do you get? An undefined and unverifiable electorate.
Colorado's version of "Democracy."
It might represent the will of some people, but there is no way to verify if it's that of eligible voters. And with tens of thousands of illegal migrants obtaining driver's licenses, combined with the ongoing government gaslighting about migrants, any claims that State has verified eligibility are justified for a challenge.
