Coach Prime is demonized when he loses and, also, when he wins. Such is often the case with change makers.
The CU Buffs won their opener against North Dakota State on Thursday, but you wouldn’t know it from the media coverage. “The game was too close; the Buffs are too shaky; Prime doesn’t know what he’s doing; too much hype.” Yawn.
The crying is on both sides. From one of my colleagues who attended the game at the invitation of a NDSD player, “Some piss poor officiating tho. Especially at the end.” Blaming the refs when you lose is tiresome; also, it’s only accurate and appropriate when the losing teams are the Buffaloes or the Avalanche.
Coach Prime is delightful. He pushes discipline and respect on his players, demands excellence on the field, in the training room, and — gasp — in the classroom. Even better, more people than ever are tuned into Buffalo football, which helps the school, the City of Boulder, and our great state.
To all the haters out there, just know that your tired tactics are transparent and, regardless, we can’t hear you over the CU Fight Song.
