In case you missed it, Colorado recently agreed to pay graphic designer Lorie Smith $1.5M in attorneys fees earlier this month, after she sued the Colorado Civil Rights Commission and the state's attorney general following her US Supreme Court win last year.
Colorado has become known for persecuting religious business owners in the name of tolerance, and this outcome is an indication that the tides are turning on tyranny in the Centennial state.
SCOTUS ruled in Smith's favor, finding that the state was effectively subverting the First Amendment and attempting to "force an individual to speak in ways that align with its views but defy her conscience about a matter of major significance.”
The Bill of Rights is still the law of the land, no matter how many times Colorado progressives in government try to change that. It is, however, unfortunate that taxpayers must foot the bill for Colorado elected officials’ constitutional subversion. Hardly seems fair.
You can read more about the court’s decision on the settlement in The Gazette. Congratulations, Ms. Smith!
