Colorado Springs Fire Department worked quickly to extinguish a two alarm fire at the Econo Lodge at North Nevada and Monument Monday morning.
“Engine 2 has the gas line shut down and has knocked down the fire at the back of this building. All crews are checking on for any fire extension,” the account said at 7:19AM, just eight minutes after initially reporting the fire at 7:11AM.
By 7:45AM, “Fire investigators are responding to determine the origin and cause of the fire. Incident command has called fire under control.”
Notably, this fire wasn’t insignificant as authorities ordered a second alarm almost immediately. Then they swiftly put an end to its unruly blaze, showing the flames who’s boss.
That’s how it’s done and, also, why cutting essential services for progressive fever dreams is a terrible idea. Would we have had the same result in Johnston’s city? Something to think about.
Well done, Firefighters!
