Plans for Southern Colorado’s first purpose-built mosque are advancing through the permitting process in Colorado Springs, signaling a milestone for the Islamic community in El Paso County.
The Islamic Society of Colorado Springs is progressing on approvals for a new worship and community center at 7610 Maverick Road, on a five-acre site off Woodmen Road. The group reports surpassing 1,000 members, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette.
Permitting on the project is underway. The first phase of construction calls for a 14,680-square-foot mosque and educational space at an estimated cost of $7.34 million, with completion anticipated by early 2027. Later expansion could more than double the size of the campus to include facilities such as a gymnasium, classrooms, kitchen and weekday daycare according to local reports on the project.
Design plans emphasize traditional mosque architecture, including a prominent dome and tower, per the Gazette report.

WELL NOW WE'LL HAVE TO DEAL WITH JIHADIST INDOCTRINATIONS CENTER RIGHT IN THE SAME AREA AS OUR MILITRAY BASES OF FT. CARSON, PETE FIELD, THE AIR FORCE ACADEMY AND SHRIEVER AIR BASE. KIND OF CONVENEINT AIN'T IT. ANOTHER CONQUEST GOING ON RIGHT HERE IN THE SPRINGS. WONDER WHEN OUR CHURCHES, TEMPLES AND SYNOGOGUES WILL START TO BE BURNED DOWN. JUST A MATTER OF TIME FOLKS BEFORE THEY START BLOCKING TRAFFIC FOR PRAYER TIME OF HAVING THE MUSLIM SCREAM TO PRAYER SOUNDING 5 FREAKIN TIMES A DAY.
