The City of Denver has among the most restrictive gun laws in the state of Colorado. Colorado ranks 13th in the nation for most restrictive gun laws, and for liberty advocates, anti-gun policy is often incoherent. What are they even trying to do?
To answer that question, we found a helpful chart from Rand explaining the intention and expected outcomes of various types of gun legislation:
It's helpful in that it explains their "logic" and pinpoints the disarmament lobby's intentions. That being said, if we measured the impact of these policies in the states that already have them, I doubt the objectives have been achieved. Consider these stats for Colorado:
Anecdotally, on Saturday night, four were injured in a LoDo shooting, according to KDVR. Again, Denver has among the most restrictive gun laws in the state.

"Denver police are investigating a shooting that injured four people Saturday night in Lower Downtown, just blocks from Coors Field. The shooting happened near the intersection of 20th and Market streets, police said in a 12:22 a.m. post on X. Police originally said three people were injured, but later Sunday afternoon said they located a fourth victim. Police said three of the people injured suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and one person is in critical condition."
Why didn't Denver's infringing gun laws prevent this?
