In the name of fact checking, 9News is reminding everyone that candidates are allowed to lie to you on TV. This isn't shocking. It also wasn't a major problem until recent years when the media stopped honestly covering their ideological allies.
But times have changed. In 2024, Democrat scandals are covered up and neutralized by the Fourth Estate while even a hint of Republican impropriety is amplified, exacerbated, and mythologized.
"Very fine people," anyone?
That's what makes legacy media fact checkers presumed legitimacy so jarring. The information below is correct, and CFP is not suggesting that this specific fact check about political ads is erroneous. We're just surprised that these outlets still retain enough credibility to call themselves "fact checkers" at all.
As you watch the "fact check" below, don't forget that legacy "authoritative sources" tried to convince you, until recently, that Joe Biden was "sharp as a tack," and "cogent."
