While the Colorado General Assembly worked hard to disarm residents of the Centennial State this session, criminals that don’t follow gun laws keep shooting each other.

Who could have seen this coming?

Denver 7 reported yesterday, “6 separate shootings leave 6 wounded in Denver, Aurora” over the weekend, and “Aurora police made an arrest in one of the shootings. No other arrests were reported.”

The increases in firearm related crime must confound gun control advocates. Denver has progressive gun laws, and shooting people is illegal across the state. How is this happening?

Reminder: Disarming the law abiding, while decriminalizing crime, makes communities less safe.

According to a Brave summary citing Neighborhood Scout, “one’s chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime in Denver is one in 13,” one of the highest crime rates in the nation.

To stay safe in Colorado, keep your guns. The criminals certainly aren’t giving up theirs.
