It's January 2024. One of the first bills out of the Colorado State House committee to be pushed through the legislative process is SJR 24-003, the Roe vs. Wade Anniversary Day bill honoring January 22, 1973 Supreme Court of the US that the "US Constitution protects the right of abortion". You can view the entire bill with all the Where As "justifications" at the following link: https://leg.colorado.gov/sites/default/files/documents/2024A/bills/2024a_sjr003_rev.pdf
On January 18, 2024, the Colorado State Senate voted 21 Yes to 13 No to approve the resolution. The next day January 19, 2024, the Colorado State House voted 41 Yes to 14 No to approve the resolution.
Colorado has the most vicious abortion laws authorizing the murder of unborn babies in America. Now the Supermajority Democrats are attempting to flaunt these laws by commemorating a date in 1973 when the Supreme Court of the US "got it wrong" and was overturned just recently by today's US Supreme Court. Those of us who live in this state are horrified by the extreme abortion (murder) laws which have recently been added to our books.
The bill ends with the following language:
That we, the members of the Colorado General Assembly:
Recommend voters amend the Colorado Constitution to
enshrine in it the right to abortion and prohibit Colorado state and local
governments from denying or discriminating against the exercise of that
right; and
Hereby designate January 22 of each year as "Roe v. Wade
Anniversary Day".
May we find a peaceful way to reverse these horrific laws and protect the human life!
