Three of the ten wolves reintroduced into Colorado last year have now died. That’s a 30% fail rate, and the full plan is to release many more.
“The Colorado plan calls for releasing 30 to 50 wolves on the Western Slope in the next three to five years.” But notably, Colorado Parks and Wildlife “had established an agreement with the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, but the original agreement was rescinded…the Tribal Government and Natural Resources Committees had concerns regarding tribal relations but the groups will continue to address those concerns together.”
Maybe the tribes, like the rest of us, are reevaluating this plan.
Do we expect these mortality rates to continue? Are CU professors culling Oregon's wolf population intentionally?
OR
Is this like that time the enviro-cultists demanded we replace paper bags with single use plastics to save trees…and ended up creating one of the worst pollutants in modern history?
OR
Is it like the time that they demanded hydroelectric power for “renewable energy” and ended up destroying the river ecosystems by adjusting river flows based on human energy consumption?
OR
Is this more like the whole thing where strip mining and child labor are required to enable the electric vehicle supply chain?
Less than a year ago, they were congratulating themselves for their experiment in “biodiversity” that (currently — still going) has a 30% fail rate IN LESS THAN A YEAR…
As a reminder, fail in this context means that living creatures died for some CU professor’s whim, which ironically ended up killing the animals she claimed to love — in the name of biodiversity.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife remains committed to the plan.
