Why does the problem persist in Aurora? The authorities are still blaming the management company, despite open records revealing that the management company sought help from the government to combat the rising gang activity -- in August.
From the Denver Gazette:
"The Edge at Lowry complex, comprised of six buildings at 12th and Dallas, have been abandoned by CBZ Management LLC, according to a letter sent to its attorneys by city attorney Pete Schulte.
It's the second of three Aurora properties owned by CBZ Management that have been the subject of intense scrutiny following reports of beatings, shootings, threats and intimidation allegedly by the Tren de Aragua Venezuelan gang, which has gained a foothold in metro Denver.
Aurora police have confirmed the presence of Venezuelan gang members at The Edge."
Readers will recall that open records from Aurora proved that the management company had asked for the local authorities to take control of their buildings citing the gang activity. The city hid this from Colorado residents and denied the problem was occurring.
“‘To be clear, my impression from what has been occurring generally is that your client has been asking for the City to take this action in order for your client to take control of the property and to sell the property,’ Peter Schulte, Aurora’s assistant city attorney, wrote CBZ Management’s attorney on Aug. 6.”
Considering those communications, this latest headline implies that Aurora is playing narrative games. That email was from August 6.
Why hasn't the building been shut down already?
